Job Title: Environmental, Health & Safety Advisor

Location: Birmingham, UK
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 + Package (depending on experience)
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Overview: An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Advisor to join a dynamic and growing team within the construction industry. The role will be based in Birmingham, supporting key projects across the region and ensuring full compliance with all relevant EHS legislation and company standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with current environmental, health, and safety legislation, best practice, and internal procedures on active construction sites.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
  • Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks, and EHS training to employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, producing detailed reports with root cause analysis and recommendations.
  • Support project teams in the development of site-specific EHS plans, risk assessments, and method statements.
  • Maintain up-to-date records and documentation in line with internal and regulatory requirements.
  • Promote a positive safety culture across all levels of the organisation and site operations.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders such as regulatory bodies, clients, and subcontractors.
Requirements:
  • NEBOSH National General Certificate (or equivalent) – essential.
  • Relevant environmental qualification or knowledge of ISO 14001 and sustainability practices – desirable.
  • Proven experience in a similar EHS role, preferably within the construction or civil engineering sector.
  • Strong working knowledge of UK health, safety and environmental legislation.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and influencing skills.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites as required.
