GDS is currently recruiting for an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety Advisor on behalf of a reputable Main Contractor operating across the UK. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking organisation involved in high-profile construction across multiple sectors.
Job Description: A skilled and proactive Health and Safety Officer is required to support construction projects by promoting and maintaining a safe working environment. The role involves ensuring full compliance with health and safety regulations, conducting site inspections, delivering training, and advising teams on best practices. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction health and safety, with the ability to influence and drive a positive safety culture across all levels of site operations.
Key Responsibilities: - Carry out regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
- Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation and company procedures.
- Deliver toolbox talks and health and safety training to site personnel.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, producing detailed reports and recommendations.
- Support the development and implementation of site-specific HSE plans.
Requirements: - Minimum 3 years of experience in a health and safety role within construction.
- NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate (or equivalent qualification).
- Strong knowledge of CDM Regulations and construction site safety standards.
- Excellent communication, reporting, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with site teams.
